Media Makeup: We include the History of Makeup and Hairstyling in our classes as every style and aspect of these areas are used regularly in film, fashion shoots, and theatre. It is essential to be prepared for all styles of makeup & hair. Fleurimon: I think it is very important to show and explain the history of make-up. I think by reading and visualizing the different Hollywood eras and historical make-ups, one is able to create new ones. Skin Art: We do not include the history of make-up in our curriculum as there is no cause to refer to historical facts for the subjects that we teach. However, we refer heavily to special effects demonstrated in past films, etc. The School of Pro Makeup: We do not officially include the history of makeup, per se, but our program definitely covers period looks. Art & Technology of Makeup College: The college has always felt that teaching the history of make-up and hairstyling to be vital. The fulltime Certificate students are asked to conduct research so that they can design make-ups for period productions and present it in a written, visual and oral format. Greasepaint: We feel it’s important to include some history of make-up for period reference on period makeup and hair. |
